What is pancit? <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Pancit (alternatively spelled pansit<\/em>) is a broad term that encompasses the wide variety of traditional<\/a> savory Filipino noodle dishes.  The word \u201cpancit\u201d is derived from the term pian i sit<\/em>, which is Hokkien<\/a> for \u201cconveniently cooked.\u201d  Although the noodle-based dishes originated from Chinese merchants back during the 10th-12th centuries, Filipinos indelibly put their fingerprint on the dish evolving it into the many types that exist today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
